My name is Dennis Lewis. I am the author of this e-book. You can learn more about me by reading the short bio under my photograph. Chi-Belt Breathing is based on the vital importance of the belly, lower ribs, and lower back in healthy, diaphragmatic breathing. It is designed to help you breathe in a freer, more-natural, and more-complete way, and thus to support your overall health and well-being. Some of the material for this e-book has been taken from the publications mentioned in my bio. Other material is new, and is not available in these publications. The organization and presentation is also new. I have organized the lessons in this e-book in a simple, progressive way to optimize your learning experience. As you work sequentially through the lessons in this e-book, I suggest you give yourself at least a week with each lesson. If you've done a lot of breathing work, you may be able to work faster, but faster is seldom better when it comes to integrating new breathing patterns into your body, your nervous system, and your life. Before beginning, be sure to read "A Word of Caution" below. A Word of CautionThe practices and advice given in this e-book are not intended to replace the services of your physician, or to provide an alternative to professional medical treatment. This publication offers no diagnosis of or treatment for any specific medical problem that you may have. Where it suggests the possible usefulness of certain practices in relation to certain illnesses or symptoms, it does so solely for educational purposes—either to explore the relationship of natural breathing to health or to expose the reader to alternative healing approaches. The breathing practices outlined in this publication are extremely gentle, and should, if carried out as described, be beneficial to your overall physical and psychological health. If you have any serious medical or psychological problem, however—such as heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer, mental illness, or recent abdominal or chest surgery—you should consult your physician before undertaking these practices.
