CEUs for nurses available! The great Sufi mystic Rumi wrote: "There is one way of breathing that is shameful and constricted. Then there’s another way: a breath of love that takes you all the way to infinity." To breathe is to live. To breathe fully is one of the conditions of living fully. Unfortunately, most of us do not breathe fully. We have lost the dynamic, healthful, and joyful power of natural, full-body breathing that we had as babies and young children. For most of us in our busy, stress-filled lives, our breathing is generally so "shameful and constricted" that it undermines our health, our vitality, and our consciousness. Using ideas and practices from his acclaimed book The Tao of Natural Breathing and his forthcoming book Boundless Breathing: Teachings, Exercises, and Meditations for Health and Self-Transformation, Dennis Lewis will take participants on a journey of presence into the physiology, psychology, and spirituality of "natural breathing." Through simple but powerful self-awareness, qigong, chanting, meditation, and Authentic Breathing® practices, and Liangong in 18 Exercises (a qigong form that can help open up the internal breathing spaces of the body), participants will learn how to integrate natural, whole-body breathing into their lives to reduce stress and to support their overall health and their quest for self-knowledge and self-realization. Dennis Lewis, a longtime student of the Gurdjieff Work, Taoism, and Advaita, teaches the transformative power of presence through breathing, qigong, and meditation. He is the author of The Tao of Natural Breathing and the forthcoming Boundless Breathing.
